What do we do?

Unions in the community

In the same way that there are local Trade Union Councils (TUCs) at district level, we represent the Trade Union Council movement at county level in Lancashire. We are made up of elected representatives from all the local TUCs in the county.

Campaigning against proposed cuts to benefits - Preston 4th February 2006

Responsibilities

We organise campaigns and make representations to MPs, Government departments, the county council, local councils, and other organisations and individuals at county and national level about a wide range of issues of concern to trade union members.

We are accredited by the national TUC and act as a representative body of the TUC in Lancashire by helping to publicise and administer TUC policy.
